Celebrating Independence Day

The Colors of Israel
- Tray -

This school year, we are excited to incorporate famous Israeli artists, their techniques, and styles into our art sessions. By doing so, we aim to encourage students to build deeper connections with Israel through art.

The theme for this year was "Colors of Israel." The students worked with stencils of their Hebrew names to create trays adorned with gemstones and spray paint. Through incorporating symbols of Israel—like doves, pomegranates, and hamsas—their creations reflected their pride in their Jewish identity and love for Israel.

In this session, they learnt about an Israeli artist, Yair Emmanuel.  https://yair-emanuel-judaica.com/

Yair Emanuel is an Israeli artist known for his vibrant Judaica designs that blend tradition with contemporary style. Incorporating rich colors, intricate patterns, and folk art influences, his work features dynamic compositions and a modern take on Jewish heritage. Using various media—hand-painted wood, embroidered textiles, and metalwork—Emanuel creates functional and artistic pieces that celebrate Jewish culture.
