Welcome to our program, designed to foster both support for Israel and the creative growth of children. We provide a platform for young minds to unleash their artistic talents through Israel-related art. Our aim is to instill a sense of joy and Jewish pride, even amidst challenging times, by celebrating their artistic achievements that reflect the essence of the Jewish State.
Our
Beneficiaries
We are proud to share that 100% of the profits from the IlluminART Israel Program were donated to an organization in Israel called "Healing Hearts Mosaic Arts," which provides art therapy for evacuees. Through this donation, we hope to further support the healing process for those affected by the recent events, helping them find solace and strength through the transformative power of art.
Healing Hearts Mosaic Arts
with Mosaics by Miriam
In the aftermath of October 7, Healing Hearts Mosaic Arts is helping people find comfort in the craft of mosaics as a metaphor for hope and recovery - for those in Israel displaced from their homes, and for those around the world who seek to make a tangible difference and reconnect with the idea of home, connection and hope in a creative way.
Mosaics are fragments and shards repurposed to create something new and meaningful. Putting together the pieces is a craft we all learn in life, and the emerging pattern is often a reflection of something deep and personal.
Symbols, messages, borne from imaginary or true experiences, mosaics are therapeutic, creative and fitting for the healing process for those suffering from trauma.
Workshop Report
First workshop, held on July 2, 2024, was a huge success. Children of many ages from Kiryat Shemona and Metulla participated. The social worker was telling me that they are working on setting up a more permanent school situation because having them in the hotel is harder and harder.
They will be bussed to other places in September. The preschools and day cares are running in the hotel and working out well, the elementary school not so much. They are in a beautiful location but dream of returning home and eating their own food in their own homes.
But, as I learned yesterday, some of their homes have been destroyed. One of the teens said to me, when I asked where they are from that she is from kiryat shemona but now she has no home.
